Clearance Defence is getting a demo. It’s with Valve for review now. Once it’s through, it’s a free download from the Steam page, in time for Steam Next Fest, 19 to 26 October.

The trailer, if you haven’t seen it yet.

What’s in it

It’s the first three nights of the campaign. The gnomes come for the shop after dark, and you build a maze of walls and towers out of whatever’s on the shelves to hold it until morning. From Night 2 you run the Safe Zone as well. Get civilians out, then put them to work making the ammo your towers need.

Night 1, wave 9: a long column of garden gnomes snaking down a shop aisle into a line of towers stood on drinks crates among cardboard boxes, with one gnome shouting "For the Under-Garden!"

Clear a night and its Endless Mode opens up. Go back to the same floor and see how long you last once the waves never end.

The demo has its own saves, so your progress won’t carry over to the full game.

Found a bug?

Report a Bug is on the main menu and in the pause menu. Write a line, hit send, and it comes straight to me with your session log and a screenshot. Send it from the pause menu and the screenshot is the moment you paused. Untick “Include screenshot” if you’d rather leave that out.

If you fancy it, wishlist Clearance Defence so you’ll know when it’s out.

Diolch, and see you on the shop floor.
